When the weather outside is dreary, or I'm feeling sluggish and tired, I tend to gravitate towards dark colored pieces or neutrals because it's "easy" to throw them on. Thing is, those are the days when I need a shot of color in my life. So I stepped out of the "neutral" zone and into the bright!
This is what I wore for work yesterday. I mean I seriously came home, dropped my purse in the entryway and stepped outside to take these pictures. I got quite a few compliments so I figure that either means 1) this is genuinely cute or 2) my vest is so shockingly bright people don't know what else to say. Either way, I really love this Old Navy vest. I bought two of their quilted vests this fall- a black one and this bright red-orange. I ordered the bright one thinking I'd probably end up returning it, but I actually love the color in person! It's perfect with this funky bright flannel, which is also an Old Navy purchase, and the boots are my current faves that I've been wearing with everything. The gold zippers on the vest made me want to pair this with my gold watch and metallic wrap bracelet. Gold and red-orange might be my new favorite combo. Oh, and the warmth factor- always important. I was comfortable outside with my sleeves pulled down (I lucked out and missed the moments of rain) and equally comfy in toasty classrooms.
What do you think? Too bright or just right? Do you like to wear bright colors when it's icky outside?
